We are a Regional Tribal Government (RTG) for the Yukon-Kuskokwim (Y-K) Region of Alaska. The Y-K RTG was established to unite the 56 Tribal governments within the Y-K Region. The Region is roughly equal to the size of New York and is home to over 26,000 Alaska residents.

The Y-K RTG is a concept that many of our elders and past leaders spoke about--the need to unite our 56 Tribal Nations to be a political and socioeconomic force, not just in Alaska but the Nation. On February 22, 2021, the Y-K RTG became a Constitutional Government under the Charter of the Napaskiak Tribal Council. Less than a year later

On February 22, 2021, the Y-K RTG became a Constitutional Government under the Charter of the Napaskiak Tribal Council. Less than a year later, on November 8, 2022, the Y-K RTG held its first election. In a short period of time, the Y-K RTG has made a huge impact on the Y-K Region.

Through unity and cooperation, our Tribes can engage a strong voice in government-to-government relations. The Y-K RTG wants to unite the 56 Tribal Nations in the Y-K Region of Alaska to align on matters of concern. We want to ensure our communities receive proper care and support to thrive for generations to come.
